The 卢斯学者计划 was launched by the Henry Luce Foundation in 1974 to enhance the understanding of 亚洲 among potential leaders in American society. The program provides stipends, 语言培训, and individualized professional placement in 亚洲 for 15-18 Luce Scholars each year, and welcomes applications from college seniors, 研究生, and young professionals in a variety of fields who have had limited exposure to 亚洲.
The program, open to both U.S. citizens and permanent residents, is unique among American-亚洲n exchanges in that it is intended for young leaders who have had limited experience of 亚洲 and who might not otherwise have an opportunity in the normal course of their careers to come to know 亚洲. Those who already have significant experience in 亚洲 or 亚洲n studies are not eligible for the 卢斯学者计划.
